(The primary lesson text CYO uses is Essential Elements Interactive Lesson Books. Students should have completed page 15 to participate in youth orchestra)

Grades 4-6 ( Beginner - advanced beginner skills)
Must be able to read whole - eighth notes/rests and play the D, G and A scales.

Grades 7-12. Intermediate-advanced ( Level 2-3 skills)
(Able to: read/play all Major/Minor Keys; play 1st - 3rd positions)
∞ADULT BEGINNERS ORCHESTRA∞
Beginners, 18 years of age or older, are welcome (we do have a few advanced players from the high school orchestra).
Even though you will play with more advanced adults,
you may choose to play an easier arrangement suited to your skill and comfort level.
It will fit, you will sound great and you'll have a lot of fun with us.
☺ SUMMER STRING CAMP ☺
Rehearse and get to know other youth string players from other areas.
It's usually held during the second week of June at the MN Discovery Center
Students study with professional string teachers/directors.
Hours from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Mon-Thurs. (Bring your own lunch)
All participants present a concert at the end of the day on Thursday.
